TEENAGERS

The teenage years are a significant time in a person’s life. Teenagers face various pressures and also make decisions that can affect the course of their lives. The Teenagers program provides a context for teenagers to fellowship, learn, and relate with their peers, parents and leaders.

In close connection with parents (or guardians), the Teenagers program aims to support, equip and train teenagers in areas relevant to their Christian spiritual and cultural development. The teenagers are supported in their growth in Christian culture and relationships, and encouraged to participate in the life of the church and to be confident in their Christian faith.

The program comprises Bible study classes, ministry meetings and organised activities. Meetings incorporate training and participation through word ministry, worship and discussion. Activities promote an appreciation and understanding of godly culture in community in a variety of fellowship contexts.

The program is for teenagers in Years Seven to Eleven. Year Twelve students are part of the Young Adults program. Leadership of the Teenagers program includes some parents of teenagers. Parents are always welcome to attend meetings and activities.

In addition to the regular program, there is an annual International Youth Convocation and an interstate Teenagers camp. The International Youth Convocation occurs each January for teenagers and young adults from across Australia and overseas. In June, teenagers primarily from churches across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria gather for the annual interstate Teens Camp.
